Is there a difference between a 4wd dana 80 and a 2wd dana 80. Manual says 6+ pints in a 2wd and 10+ pints in a 4wd. Thanks for the info!!!

Is the fluid difference because of 2 and 4wd or is it due to something like limited slip differential and open differential?

Thanks guys for the insight. Still not sure though, is there a housing difference between a 4wd and a 2wd? How much fluid capacity difference is there between an open carrier and a posi, if any??? Again, thanks!!!

I believe it has to do with the pinion angle on a 4wd the differential is rotated up because of the higher ride height. They do this to minimize the pinion angle. My 80 took 10 pints its a good idea to jack up each side of the truck to be sure gear lube gets to the bearings when doing a fluid change.
