Wanted to get the prices laid out so I could get the 2500, 6. 7L, SB, pick-up ordered before the new year. Karl Klement, Dodge, Decatur, Texas, wouldn’t dance with me. I had my shopping list right out of the big beautiful 40 page, Dodge, scratch-n-sniff, book that came in the mail. Bill K. M. , bird dogged in the parking lot and soon turned me over to the guy with the computer. I was told that prices were not available for a special order truck on this Saturday, December 23, 2006. I addition, published allowances or rebates’ effective when I order the truck are not valid unless they still exist at the day of delivery in February/March 2007. HOWEVER, he would be glad to place my real time order in the computer right then and now. I had to think about that. Humm……no prices. That’s a lump of coal just in time for Christmas. One of you Elves’ have any knowledge about this subject? Oh, by the way, it is Merry Christmas, not Happy Muham-mad  . MERRY CHRISTMAS .

Try emailing one of these dealer with you wish list... . they both offer 1000 back of invoice (cost), and all repbates... as well as the farm bureau discount of 500 bucks...

They will be happy to email or fax you a quote... they get LOTS Of fly in and pick a truck...

Dave Smith - www.usautosales.com - Worlds largest dodge dealer in little town Kellogg ID... . and Rob Crosswhite at www.dishmandodge.com the largest dodge dealer in WA state... . both play honest... play by the same rule book... they both shoot their lowest price from the start and would rather order you a new truck... . I've bought from both and sent customers that way... . don't know of any unhappy people... .

It took my BIL 3 months to get the same deal from his quote from Dave Smith from a dealer in MI... . the dealer for 2 months told him he couldn't do that deal and no one could... . it wasn't until my BIL ordered the plane ticket that the MI dealer came through with a deal that was 1000 higher than Dave Smith... . about what it would have cost to fly out here and drive it home.....

Just my thoughts. .

Thanks Jim. Good info. May try one of them.

Jeff... ..... Don't tell me that "ep" stands for extrasensory perception. What is your do date?

Funny seeing someone from Runaway Bay on here! I don't live here but my sis does over on on Lanai.

I'm looking for a C/R but not too hard, would like to keep the 12V for a toy.

Give Rockwall Dodge a try. It's about 100 miles away from you, but they treated me right when I bought my '04.

Farm Bureau

Join the Farm Bureau in the cheapest state you can find. A guy posted that Nev. is only $15. 00 for a year. On a special order you need to be a member for 45 days on delivery day, thirty days for existing stock. Those are D/C's rules. They hand you a coupon and you mail it to the Farm bureau of your choice. Don't join San Diego County like I did:$75. 00(ouch) only to miss the deadline by a few weeks. My truck was in Dave Smith's lot in 29 days.

dealer just gave me price on new mega cab pre 07 price was 54000 after 55900 but my ep price is 48100 not sure when it will be built yet

The code guides are out for the 6. 7 L so they could have quoted you with a little extra effort. I have been quoting them since the 21st using the code guides which is what I have to do when I am bidding for government bid anyway.

Here is the cost changes in a nutshell: The 6. 7 L is itemized at $5368 wholesale (FWP) and $6100 MSRP which is a $436/495 increase. The manual transmission has no change in price and the new 68RFE automatic is $422 more FWP and $480 MSRP. They will also list a "Ultra-clean Diesel System" charge on the sticker which is $1024 FWP and $995 MSRP. Yes, the dealer cost of that feature is actually higher than the consumer cost. In other words, the factory is reducing the margin to the dealer, not by much, but yet again.

Mr. KEN... ... ... YOUR THE MAN. Thanks for that piece of info. You may have a comment on the email I got today. I'll share it with you, but don't tell no one, OK? Here it is; "I got word that the Factory pulled off pricing, because they are shutting down for 2 months due to an abundance of inventory. Dodge Dealerships are falling like flies in some of the major Western Cities, and all over the East, and their niventory is getting shipped back to the Factory. The new 2007 Rams with the 6. . 7L Cummins will not start rolling on the assembly line until March now. "

;) Thank you Sir... ... ... . Did that very deed today. Texas Farm Bureau, $39. 00. When I asked the lady what I would get besides a membership card for my 39 bucks, I was thinking in terms of cheaper insurance rates. She said, "we can tattoo a big FB on your forehead, FARMBOY!" Surely something to think about.

Country Companies have a special insurance rate for Farm bureau members... . car, home, life... etc... I have 2 homes and several cars insured through them... . and the rates seem fair.....

Tom - carson dodge... . tell us in a new thread about the dealership failures... . are there a lot of old established dealers..... do you expect Dodge to improve rebates, etc because of the excessive inventory???

I want to order 1 or 2 new 5500 which I was told several months ago would be available to order after the first of the year... . do you know anything about this program... I'm told that only dealers selling the Sprinter are now approved for this new truck???

Oh boy!! Where does on go to join the FB?

Tattoo sounds like a heckuva deal too. Oo.

For Jelag

Whoever told you that you could order the 5500 after the first of the year was either optimistic or not very educated. Here is what I know:

The 4500/5500 is hopefully being introduced this month at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. It will be a 2008 model. It is kind of accurate that you have to be a Sprinter dealer, the actual is you have to be a BusinessLink dealer. That also means you must have the facilities, training, special tools to handle these trucks. So, not every Dodge dealer will carry the 4500/5500. Also, since the trucks will be very technical and the relationship with the upfitters are crucial, you wouldn't want to buy from any ole' salesperson at any ole' dealer anyway.

At my store we will only allow salespeople who have undergone extra training and testing to sell the 4500/5500. That is how we do it with Sprinter and it works very well.

I expect the 4500/5500 will be orderable by July, although they could come early. So it is after the first of the year, just not 'right' after the first.

Ken, i am hoping you might be able to give me some feedback on what to expect for a truck I ordered on 12/19/06. It is a 3500 mc 4x4 w/ 6. 7 ctd. The dealer I ordered through is saying that I may not get the truck until end of February or first part of March. This seems like a long time. The truck I ordered is pretty run of the mill, when will dealers be receiving the first shipments of 2500/3500's (not C&C) with the 6. 7 ctd? Isn't normal lead time on an order 6 weeks? Thanks for any insight you may have on this.

Oh man... . I'll be in my 12 valve for a LONG time.

Which isnt the worst thing in the world. :D

That time frame you are being told seems reasonable. When it isn't holiday season it takes 7-9 weeks to get a truck after an order, but they are having to integrate this new engine in the production so that always takes longer. Also, the factory has curtailed production due to excess inventories last year so it takes longer. Also, the assembly lines all shut down for two weeks around the end of the year so your order won't even be looked at by DaimlerChrysler until January 8th. Also, your dealer has to have allocation and nothing you ordered can be on restriction.

If all the planets align, sometimes you can get an order in 6 weeks. That rarely happens and I personally would never tell someone the most optimistic time. If I ordered your truck I would be saying the same time frame your dealer is telling you.
