Well I guess I spoke too soon when I said I have never had a problem with fuel filters. Has anybody ever had a problem with the drain valve falling apart after a filter change? I was a Wal-mart and noticed a drip under the truck so I checked it out and the drain valve fell out in my hands. Is this a part that is available at a parts house? I called Napa and they did a number on me. It was about 20 minutes until closing and they put me on hold until it was closing time and then disconnected the line. I couldn't believe it. I tried two stores and they both put me on hold. It will be a while before I go back there. What other filter brands besides fleetguard are you guys running. I don't know if I can get the fleetguards locally. What is the part number for the fleetguard, I need it in a hurry?

Sorry so long.

Thanks,

Travis

Mine started dripping on me and by the time I had driven 35 miles to the house she was pouring. I went to the dealer and had them install a new valve and change the filter at the same time. Seems like it cost me about $60 total.

Go to the TDR home page and click on to site sponsors and then Genos. The drain and water-in-fuel sensor are one unit. Geno is selling this for about 1/2-2/3s of the dealer price.

In May I had to buy mine at the dealership while vacation in Whiteville, NC.

I broke it while doing a filter change.

Peterbilt class 8 truck place has access to Cummins parts. Peterbilt had a Cummins powered little delivery truck a couple of years ago and they have access to Cummins parts for like 10 years.

I get all my Cummins stuff from local Peterbilt Class 8 truck repair place. However I get a lot of ribbing when I park my "toy" truck.

"Hey fella, get that from Mattel? or Tonka?"

TGains,

you can get the fleetguard filters at the Cummins shop at the Van Horn shop. Go through the stop sign there at Peger and go down 3 driveways on the left. You can see the Cummins northwest sign. go in there and get your filters.

Thanks for the heads up Warren. I should have thought about calling you first. I will get over there soon and pick up some filters to have for spares.
