Hi Had a friend of mine call me tonight and he has a 2001 dodge with a big problem. His truck will run wild and be normal without warning. He is on his fourth ECM. Anybody had a problem of this nature? I would appreciate your valuable input on this matter. Im a tdr member and he is not. After hearing the horror stories of these electronics im glad I got my first genner!

First thing I would check is excessive oil in the intake piping.
How is he sure his ecm's are failing? Nothing I can think of ecm related would cause a run away.

Has he checked all grounds at the batteries and the ecm? Also check the battery cables. Mine did it once and i found one battery cable had been melted somehow, making the voltage to the VP44 eratic. Replaced and haven't had another problem.
