Yesterday I bought a can of scotch guard carpet cleaner and sprayed down the carpets in my truck and scrubbed them with a brush. I was trying to get rid of that white dryed water residue left over from melted snow in my truck. I had no luck, the white crusty stuff is still there. Anyone else have this problem or know of a good product to take care of it?

That's the salt residue. Try wetting the stain and getting a good strong wet/dry vac to suck it up. Might help some. Last time I had to do that I took out the carpet and cleaned it, but so far nothing in the new truck with the fox weatherboots, they wook great.

On my last truck, I used Purple Power diluted 50%, and a brush, then used the carpet cleaner. Had to do this 3 or 4 times before I got all of the residue out, then I bought husky liners.

Husky liners, truck carpet still looks like new 14k miles and counting! If you shell out this kind of money don't go cheap! Get the after market stuff you need. :D

Green Machine

If you don't have one, beg, borrow, or steal. These little vacs with the "green" cleaner and good on any carpet stain. Good luck, Doc

That's exactly why I bought Husky Liners. None of the salt gets in the carpet, and/or puddles on the floor pans. Now, I can sponge it out (I use baby-wipes), and I'm good to go. Once you get it cleaned, I'd get some liners, especially for the winter (salt) months.

Bissel that carpet if you don't own one buy one they are worth every penny..... you should see what it did to a used 95 Saturn I bought from a young mother.

Had the Husky Liners in my last 3 CTD's and they are awesome ! They are the best in my opinion.

There is some stuff called Lifter 1 . If you can find it , buy it. It's the best stuff I have ever seen. I know it would take any stain out.
