Dash Cover

Can anyone tell me how to remover the dash cover on my 99'. I'm wanting to change the wires on the dimmer switch around , so that the outside bed light comes on first.



I know that I need to buy a Service Manual, but times are tuff and so is convincing the wife. :{



Please help a poor guy out.

If you're talking about the bezel, or "surround" that goes around the instruments, it just pulls off. A word of warning though, it is a little tightly mounted.



I usually grab mine right above the instrument cluster and give it a pull. There are tabs that hold it in place, and the steering wheel needs to be tilted all the way down (if you have tilt).



Then, the light switch just screws into the dash.

When putting the bezel back on make sure the little stick on fabric pieces are in place. They help keep the bezel from rattling and buzzing. My fabric was cute little pieces of red velvet cause my truck is hecho en Mexico

I remember reading a thread that told which wires to swap. Might want to do a search.

There's ONE screw you have to remove before you pull that bezel off!! it's located where the aux power plug is, top, right side. Easy to miss...
