2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dash Cracked where to get new one?

Well I heard a pop when I was backing up my boat today and guess what? the dang dash cracked!!! from the bezel to defroster. I can not believe it?

2 questions:



1 what does the dash cost?



2 how hard and what is required to replace it.



it sucks to see you dash crack right in front of you!!!

Mine cracked a couple years ago. This is a pretty common thing although dealer will not acknowledge. The local dealer had to change out a dash on the lot that cracked before they could sell the truck. Dealer said $800 or $1300 installed. I said screw that and bought a dash cover and now I don't see it. Looks like a big job just to change it out.

Get hold of the D/C area rep. The dealer is fixing mine and eating all cost incl. labor. D/C has litigation against the manufacturer of the dash for not making it to the proper specifications.



Be persistant and keep going up the ladder. I mentioned the TDR and all the posts on cracked dashes and they're response was that they had heard about it and other issues thru the TDR!



Nobody likes negative publicity.

mine is a 96 model so I think they would get out of it by it being 8 years old.

Called the factory today and they told me that they documented it but they are sorry they could not help me with it.



I told them I drive a 94 chevy and it sits in the sun day after day and the dash is like new on it.



I love this truck, but I dont know how long I CAN KEEP IT IF IT STARTS FALLING APART



Dash is 300 plus 150 to dye it... . that will not be happening here!!

Mine is a 94 and also is cracked. I hate those dash covers, but I guess that is what will have to happen.

I have a 98. 5 3500 and it just cracked about 2 weeks ago, from the windsheld to the pass airbag... ... . this really sucks

Lets see, bad lift pumps, bad track bars, bad a/c units, rust, now dash boards? I am beginning to think these trucks are junk.

My 99 is cracked to, Silver Bullet you forgot Bad VP-44 injection pumps. More like money pits.
