Anyone else had this problem... I bought the truck new 2yr and 4 mons ago... (truck is almost 3yrs old. . )

Was working under the hood installing new injectors today. . and look between the hood and cowling. . through the window to see a 14in crack in my dash running from the defrost vent. . alsmost to the black bezel... Cannt see it from the drivers seat. . but can see it from out side if know what to look for... I know it has gotten colder here in TX. . but its only in the 30's... I guess the change in temp did it...

Anyone replaced the upper half of the dash?? Any sugestions???

Thanks

Bryan

Have the same problem went to the dealer talked to the parts person he told me it was common and that he had my upper dash in stock list is $190. 00. I plan on doing the dash and the AC evaporator core this year. My thought's on the evaporator core is its easer to do it then while the dash is apart and thay always go bad in the Dodges.

Thanks, Mark... Gald to hear about the price of the dash... I haven't done the evaporator core... but I have done the heater cores in the 97 and older trucks. . Basically remove the entire dash and set it in the front seat. . It's a real PITA...

Thanks. . and good luck. .

Bryan

My 99's dash lasted about the same time 2+ years and then it cracked also. Instead of replacing it I ordered a dash cover from Genos, its cheaper than replacing it.

Ultimat is a good cover. Fits like a glove. No velcro needed. I like it because it stops the glare off of the dash.
