I do not have the extended warranty and I am wondering what the circuit boards would cost me? I already talked to the dealer and he suggested to go out and tap lighty on the bulbs to see if they short out--------mine seems to do it over bumps

If it were me, I'd first disassemble the each of the light assemblies and clean them thoroughly with acetone. Then install new bulbs. If that didn't work, I'd get the new circuits.

For me, it was a loose connection at the bulb. That loose connection dinged the hell out of me and then a bulb finally went out, burning through the contactor on the bulb, the bulb filament itself was fine. I don't think the strip is bad, I just don't think there is enough pressure against the bulb. I just used a small screwdriver and bent the contactors up a bit in the strip and replaced the bulbs ... ... ... . been thousands of miles ago with no problems.

I replaced all 6 bulbs-----both sides and the problem is gone. Some of the bulbs looked a little dark but visual inspection didnt show any of the elements broke.

Try and imagine a 400 mile trip with the dash ding every 4-5 seconds :--) . Trust me, I was about to go freaking batty!! I no sooner pulled into my driveway and shut it down and I had aready pulled both taillight fixtures out and was checking bulbs. Out of six bulbs, all of which were still good, one was making a bad connection at the socket and had melted the plastic on the bulb causing it to momentarily make a connection then lose it, make it then lose it. DING... DING..... DING... DING... . AHAAHHAAHAAAAAAAAA. So, after I cooled down a bit, I drove up to the parts store, spent $3 on a package of bulbs and PROBLEM SOLVED Oo. That ding is enough to put anyone over the edge.

I had the same thing happen - everyone talking about the tail lights, I agree with. One thread even says to start by checking the driver side tail first. I did and found one bulb with a slightly melted base from heat on the wire, probably cuased by the connection. Used a pocket knife to pull the wire up and reinstalled the light - no problems since. a lot cheaper than a new card as many told me to do! Thanks TDR.

Mine did the same thing, I checked all the lights and they seemed fine until I checked the brake lights, one was out. replaced it and it hasn't been a problem since, that was over a year ago.
