I am a long time reader, first time writer. For about 6 months I've been getting p0122 and p1693 intermittently along with occasional dead throttle and weird torque converter lock or unlock. I knew my batteries were shot and everything seemed to work fairly well on longer trips. Until a couple of weeks ago the engine almost died when I started to accelerate after a traffic slow down. I pulled over to the side of the road and it started to run just fine. Five miles down the road I pulled up to a red light and it died. Would not start. Had it towed home and I found no pressure at the injector pump, a filthy fuel filter(no water), Raptor is cavitating. I had to blow in to the tank from the pump in order to get fuel to the pump. Blew out the fuel lines, replaced the fuel filter, bled the system, got 15 psi at the injector pump, bled the injectors and it started with no check engine light.
I installed new batteries and put some treatment in the tank. Pressure at the injector pump is down to 13 psi and I now get a solid p1693 on the dash and the OBD II read 2 p0237s and they will not clear. When I erase the codes, the check engine light blinks off for a split second and comes right back on. Why can't I clear the codes? Why are they not the same? I'm only a shade tree mechanic, but what did I do wrong? Should I be happy that I don't have the p0122 any more? Am I fighting a phantom bad connection or ground? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
