Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) dash gauge bezel ??

How do I get the dash face off I need to be replace the head light switch

Take off panel under steering wheel. drop steering wheel to seat. gently pry the bezel off. Oh take the ash tray out before doing that. replace switch. put everything back in reverse order. There will be clunk or two from the steering shaft but after that every thing should be normal. (be careful not to crack the dash).


Above was for 5-spd manual you mite have more to do with auto.

But, just in case some newby stumbles across this one I'll post this reply:

There is no need to drop the steering wheel or remove the knee bolster in order to pull the dash bezel.

On early models where the cup holder is in the top right of the bezel you will need to remove the cup holder and frame and the ash tray and frame. The wheel needs to be tilted all the way down and if an auto, the shifter will need to be in "1". (Make sure to scotch the wheels and set the parking brake.) The bezel then pulls off. Be careful of the wiring for the lighter and pull a little all the way around instead of getting it completely loose on one side then moving to the other.

On later models where the cup holder folds down from under the dash bezel, all you will need to do is tilt the wheel all the way down and if an auto, the shifter will need to be in "1". (Make sure to scotch the wheels and set the parking brake.) The bezel then pulls off. Pull a little all the way around instead of getting it completely loose on one side then moving to the other.

Mine has one Phillips screw by the power point that must be removed- then the surround can be (carefully) pulled out of the clips.
