Why do the dash lights dim when the headlights are turned on? I have a 96 2500. We older adults find the time & radio need to remain the same brightness. Is it possible to stop this dimming?
You should be able to rotate the dash brightness control all the way to bright and the time and radio should remain at their normal intensity.
It works this way on my '01, and I'm pretty sure that it does it as well for the older trucks. The '01 has a slight catch right before going into this mode. The dash lights stay the same, it's just that the radio and odometer come back to normal brightness.
