One of the bigest reasons i run a dash mat is it cuts down of the reflection in the windshield. The dash is some what glossy and the mat is not.

I have seen a mat for the guage pod, but dont know who makes it. Ill ask a 2nd gen friend of mine who has one.

FISH, there are suede/velour mats out there. I f you go to your local parts guy the should have at least one "sample stack" with the colors and materials.

I have a carpet "Dash Mat" when it gets dirty, just wash it by itself in the washing machine, after the spin cycle the washer will leave it damp then install it back on the dash on a sunny to dry. Might want to crack a window or two.

we have dash covers on all our vechiles here in KS, to reduce the glare, help pevent cracks, and for the dash critters to hang on to.

Quick update on dash cover materials-- Moulded to fit ones, like the CoverKing or Ultimat, are available ONLY in poly carpet. CoverKing finishes the edges of their cutouts, while Ultimat does not (according to the manufacturer of Ultimat); DashTopper also sells a very nice "Sedona Suede" which is very well manufactured and has a lifetime warranty, but it is sewn and not moulded to fit. I decided to order the CoverKing from Geno's--if I don't like it I will return it and try the Dashtopper--it is very good looking IMO, but I decided to try the moulded fit first. I'll report back if people are interested after I get the CoverKing, Here are links:

I got one from Geno's because my truck has the dark interior. NOw with the light gray cover it doesn't get nearly as hot in the cab. Reduced glare is nice too. Nobody ever says anythign about the cover not matching the rest of the dash. Just compliments on how nice it looks. Fit isn't perfect, but it works.

OK, I see the pic before I hit "save". Where'd it go?

Hey everyone, I received my order from Genos today and just wanted to let you guys know that the cutout edges on the Coverking are NOT finished in any way--they are simply stamped or cut through the carpeting, just like the Ultimat. The fit is OK, though not perfect, and will probably need velcro to hold it flat and in place. I am somewhat disappointed, because the guy at Genos specifically told me that the cut edges were finished. I have a Dashtopper on order as of today--it should come in by the end of next weekend I will let you guys know what I think of it and which I am going to keep.

Like you, I was not happy with the Coverking from Genos. I sent them an e-mail with my complaints. No problem with Genos, they are great and always work with the customer. The mat seemed to be well made, but it was folded and stuffed into a tiny box (many wrinkles). The grey color was quite a bit lighter than original, so it actually increased the reflection on the windshield. I ended up buying a dark grey Velour mat (made by Dashmat) from carcoverguys.com, for less money ($29 + shipping). There are about 16 colors to choose from. It was delivered neatly rolled in a long box (no wrinkles) and fits perfectly. Carcoverguys also offers something called an Ulitmat, but I have no experience with it. My father in law has always bought Dashmats from JC Whitney and seems satisfied.
