Where do I find a good 3 gauge dash pod for my 2001 ? I already have a 3 gauge pillar mount and need to add more gauges. I added Air Lift air bags w/in-cab controls , 10 gallon air tank, 3/4hp air compressor and a 160 db air horn. I am moving up my fuel pressure gauge to the dash and adding a 150 psi autometer gauge to monitor air pressure at the air tank, then installing Air Lift's dual needle air gauge for the bags. by the time I am done, I will need a co-pilot just to watch the gauges  :D.

Still looking for a dash gauge pod, has anyone installed a autometer dash top pod ? I looked at one, but I am concerned about its mounting methods, using only one mounting screw makes me wonder if it will stay in place and not raddle.

I got my triple gauge dash pod from Genos, not sure who makes it, but I have no complaints with it, it is fastened using velcro, no rattles. It mounts nicely against my triple pillar pod, now I just need another triple dash pod to go next to the first one. :D

Rob

Rob- I NEED one of those. :D I already have the pillar triple and the center dash triple. What is the item or part number for that? That's not the same as the Autometer one (That I already have) that goes directly in the center?

Kev

Nope, this one is made to go on the left side (they also make one that goes on the right side) , up against the bezel. Funny thing is, I can't seem to find it, on they're site, or in the catalog. I just bought another one from them a few months ago, so I know they at least USED to carry it.

I did see another site that had them, I just can't seem to remember which site it was,(it's not an autometer product) give me some time... ... .....

Rob

Ok, here's the best I can do for now, US Gear makes this one http://www.dieselpage.com/bnkmount1.htm but they only offer it in the left side (on the site anyway, maybe call them and see).

Someone awhile back sent me a link to a site that had several dash mounts, including left, and right triple pods, but I can't find the link, and can't remember who sent it to me in the first place. Maybe they will chime in here.

I just searched through all the threads about this, and came up with pretty much nothing, sorry.

Rob

Rob You da man! THANKS. I can't believe in all I've bought from DIS that I missed that?!!

Exactly what I need. While I like the Rods Pod for additional gauges, I just could bring myself to butcher up the Dash bezel trim.

Kev

Rob- Just got off the phone with Brent at DIS and he told me that US Gear pod that they sell will not fit if you have a pillar mount gauge setup? But the one in your photosa shows both side by side?? Did you have to modify it to fit or did it go right in??

Kev

Kev, nope, no modifying, it fit like it was made to mate with the triple a-pillar. Hmm, but you know what, my a-pillar mount is not an autometer (not sure what brand it is, I got it from TST) that may be the difference, I know the autometer a-pillar mounts are different than mine.

Rob

I believe that these are the same as Rob's, except for the tweeter on the A-Pillar. I did not modify anything to make them fit.

Sorry about the crummy pics, I have not figured out how to save the image quality and get the file size small enough yet.

Kat- quit following the blue 4x4 so close and he won't spit rocks back at your windshield and crack it:p ;) .

Rob, RocknHammer- I don't see how it would cause an interference with the autometer, Rocknhammer looks like a close fit but still no problems. It would sure solve my gauge mounting woes. I currently have 6 and have 2 more sitting on the bench.

Does the pod cause any visual impairment at all?

Actually that crack is from a hailstorm! Just never got around to fixen the window. The the blue 4x4 is a friend of mine from work, I converted him from gas to diesel

Kev, when you first install the dash pod it will take a little getting used to. It blocks only the left front most corner of the hood, slightly. You'll get used to it, and you won't even know it's there.

The gauges in the dash pod are much easier to see in a split second, than the ones in the a-pillar, IMO, so I installed the, "important" gauges on the dash.

Rob

Rob/Kev - They do not impede your vision much if your 6'3" :D

I have had to peek over them in a few tight turning situations though. My wife finds them "distracting", but I do not think that is an issue with the pods. I have found that turning down the gauge brightness helps a bit as well.

I agree with the "at a glance" aspect. I have two EGTs and Trans Temp on the dash. The pillar has two FPs and Boost.

Ditto on the great service- Brent or Randy, everu time.

I'm gonna take a chance that it will fit without a problem and order one:D .
