I have a 2007 SLT with the fllor console and the manual tranfer case shifter mounted in the console. I have read articles about removing the rubber cup holders and the screws under them. I believe I have read somewhere where you have to do something with the transfer shifter. The article said you had to remove the plate on top of the shifter and remove a nut. It sure doesn't look like the plate, which I assume is the one with the 4H 4L written on it, pops off or if it does I don't know how you would get it off without dinging it or the shifter knob. Anyone been down this road?

Thanks,

Tom

I don't know if the '07 is the same as my '06, but I just unbolted the TC shifter and set it aside. As for the rest I just kept removing the components from the bottom up and the last one, which surrounds the radio, had two screws in the bottom of it. After those were removed the whole fascia came off easy, the upper portion is pushed on and pulled off. It has some blade like fasteners... .

Thanks. I assume that the tramsfer lever is bolted to the floor under the rubber boot. Does the rubber boot around the lever just pull off or is there some "trick" to getting access to the bolts securing the lever?

I pulled an '07 apart a couple weeks ago. Popped the rubber boot off the console, turned it sideways and removed the console. Never had to take the shifter off.

Is this roughly the same for the manual transmission? I have to take out the floor console, then the piece in front of the shifters, then the radio bezel, Right?

That's how I tackled mine, they seemed to assemble the dash in this area just like you would build a house, from the bottom up:)
