How much of the dash do you need to remove? Why?

As for the face (like to install a stereo) just gently py out on the face with your fingers. Lookf for screws before doing this. Other than 1 or 2 screws, depending on vehicle options, they should just be snapped in.

For the top of the dash, up by the windsheild, same thing

Same also for the headlamp switch cover

The glove box takes a bit on force to get to drop down and out

Hope this helps!

thanks, trying to access radio, as sirius side of it stopped working. already talked to sirius and reactivated but no go.

there are two screws holding the wood grain dash panel on. They are down low and are easier to find with your finger than trying to look. If you have the center consoul like me then the whole top half of the consoul has to come out.

Add what your truck is to you sig under user control panel so guys know what you have when you are asking for help. Might make the difference between good and bad info!

You may not need to pull the dash.

I found my satellite receiver up above the glove compartment.

Just remove the glove compartment by squeezing the edges and it drops down and then lift the whole glove compartment out.

If you look up into the top of the dash you should see the satellite box, at least that's where mine is.

good luck.

dash removal, XM radio

Old thread (probably resolved) , but maybe I can help new searches.

Previous threads were very helpful (thanks). You can do this yourself and save some money, do it once and you're an expert.

I just installed new XM Delphi Skyfi2 with a direct antenna coupler. Great unit with more cool features than the factory unit. I mounted it in the bin on center console (where the shifter is on the 6 speed). Hard wired power to cig lighter (+ is pink with yellow tracer).

As close as I can recall:

a. Remove rubber cup holder and plastic sunglass bin.

Remove (3) ea zinc-plate 8mm hex screws on drive shaft hump (two on passenger side, one driver side) Screws are probably 8mm, 5/16 6-point socket worked fine. Pull out this section.

(B, C and D may be out of order, easy to figure out when you get there)

b. Remove (2) more 8mm zinc plate hex screws on drive shaft hump. These hold the console section that is under the center recess section. Pull out this section.

c. On Mega Cab this also holds down the backseat AC duct. Duct will impede removal of center recess section. Simple slip joint. Slide out this duct.

d. Remove two black 7mm screws (also philips head). Drop the center recess section straight down. It's clipped in, just a good tug.

e. Remove two 7mm/philips screws, one each pointing up under cig lighter and power socket. Hard to see if your 6 ft 3, but you can feel them with your fingers.

f. Starting on (grey) edge next to shifter, slowly snap out the center panel. There are eight or so spring clips that will be difficult at first, buy you should be able to ease out the panel with your fingers. Avoid using a screw driver. To remove the panel, pull the spring loaded shifter towards you for clearance.

f. You can hang the panel on the wires, or disconnect the harnesses. I left the harnesses connected and rested the panel on a towel to prevent scratches.

g. Radio is held in with (4) black 7mm/philips screws. Radio is clipped in but pops out with a good tug. Warning: The unique Dodge antenna plug on back of radio will pull apart if you are not careful. Be sure to grab the black plastic housing when removing.
