Don't know exactly what it is, but my truck was in the shop today and got the treatment for the recall.

It may be for the sagging hood insulation contacting the EGR cooler, creating a fire hazard. I don't see how it could contact the EGR cooler in my truck with that EGR motor/cable/valve device in the way. I've seen a picture of an engine bay with out that device, maybe cab&chassis trucks don't have it, making it more of a safety issue on those vehicles. What about the fire hazard from the exhaust? I could remove paint with mine when it's in regen!

Reading the recall notice, it appears to be the firewall insulation, not the under hood insulation.
