Stereo guru's: What do you all think about the dash speaker locations? Is it worth putting speakers up there in an after-market system? What would sound quality be like bouncing off the glass... . and what about the sun eating the speakers alive in short order?
ive got MB quart 6-4-tweet with the 4-tweet in the dash and the 6 in the door it works great. you can do a lot more with a good instaler like i had. the sun wont do anything.
MB Quart is what I am using also, was gonna put the tweeters in the door above the 6", if its better in the dash perhaps I should consider that. Any more thoughts?
put them in the dash! the imaging is far better than it would be in the doors. the installer made the 4-tweet into a coax by mounting it over the 4 inch. in the rear doors a set of 6-tweet he did the same thing. the separates are far better than the coax a lot because of the better crossovers. ive also got 4 JL8w6's under the rear seat and 3 phoenix gold amps and a cap under the front seat all together about 1000-1100 clean watts. it plays fleetwood mac just as good as metalica. and the best thing is except for the deck you would never know it was there. and it will go back to factory spec very easily. holes in doors don't go away. well there is a lot you can do with the new trucks you just need a good installer and a few bucks... . hope that helps
