dash squeaks, creaks, and rattles

How many owners have to live with these noises? I'm not talking about those who live in Cities and have smooth roads, I mean real world pot holes, washboards etc. I have a 95 Dakota with 170,000 that is quieter inside (not engine) then my 2001 CTD and the Dakota has been beat to death off roading in 4WD. Next week they are pulling the dash to recenter it per some TSB but everytime I drive it I find new noises coming from the dash, if anything made me not buy a Dodge again it would be the POS aka, Toyata style plastic "snap together" dash. I am worried about getting hearing damage

Can't remember about the 95,98 I've had but this one(2000) makes creaks,pops off and on. Nothing I can not live with but it could be better. Thats just part of a truck. Its not a car.

TD, my 99 is as tight as can be. The only rattle in it is the cupholder squeeks when it is down and on extremely rough off road type stuff the back seat has a squeek. The roads here in WI are some of the worst I have been on and still no rattles. This is the first vehicle I have had that was not rattles from end to end after 2 years on these roads, I am very impressed with that. I would guess that your interior is the victim of a cost cutting measure. Mine was assembled in Mexico, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

I had a 2001 for two years and have had my 2002 for two months. I have been impressed with both not squeaking, popping or rattling.



Coming from a '97 Chevy that squeaked, popped, rattled, etc. I was elated.

Every time any thing in my truck decides it is time to make some noise, it gets smacked. That usually takes care of it. If the dash starts to rattle, SMACK!!! Shuts right up. Works beautifully.

My 2000 had squeaks around the dash So I took it to my friend's bodyshop and he loosened the screws just alittle bit at the base of the windshield and this stopped my squeak Just a case of being too tight from the factory.
