This is info only. I have a 99 QC and developed a "dash squeak". Drove me crazy, lubed everything. Still squeeked. Swore it was in the dash and after a few weeks concluded that it might be in the steering column. My son came over and we poped the hood. He had me induce the squeak and he could hear it loud and clear coming from the upper U joint in the steering shaft. Lubed it as best I could and it went away... I will now pull the shaft out and do an inspection / lube or replace as required. Bottom line is if you get a "dash squeak" spray some lube on the upper U joint under the hood and see if it disappears. The sound was transmitting all the way up into the upper steering column area.

Hate squeaks... ... ... . :)

yep, been there too. The Dealer told me to try pouring some oil on the upper ujoint, seems to be a common problem.

Thanks for posting what you find, if you find other squeaks & fixes please post them.
