Can anyone suggest the best place to tap into 12v switched power for accessories? I am installing a Westach boost/pyro and don't want to go "fishing" through all the wires for the power source.

Thanks

Bill

'00 3500 ETC DEE 2wd Patriot Blue. All stock right now. Plenty of time to BOMB later.

I personally believe that the cigar lighter is the best source for low to medium powered accessories. It is a 20-amp switched circuit. I pigtailed a separate fuse block off of this which has fuse values matched to the appropriate accessory.

Thanks

Thanks for all the advice. This time I used the cigar lighter wire to get the 12v. I will tap into the fuse box #16 or 17 when the Exhaust brake goes in. This project was the pyro/boost gage from Westach. I bought the Genos kit and put the gage in the little hole to the right of the stereo. Looks like OEM there. I used an Autometer angle ring to point the gage more in the line of sight of the driver. That helped a lot, I really like it.

Thanks again

Bill
