Has anyone removed the dash in the Cummings Dodge? I want to mount a gauge set on top of the dash. I would like to run the wiring up the back of the dash and have it come out of the left side defroster vent. In order to do this, I would likely have to drill a hole and it looks like the most inconspicuous place would be defrost vent.

What brand of gauge mount do you have, Gauge Works? I have a US Gear dash mount. I had enough room to run the wires/tubung up between the dash and the inside of the cab above the fuses. Wrapped them with black electrical tape to help hide the wires and to prevent the chance of rubbing through one of the wires.

I just did mine yesterday,

Lots of room between the a/c ducts and other components, I did not drill any of the ducting for wiring.

I put in a 3 gauge dash mount. I put mine about 5 inches from the left pillar or so. I screwed mine into the had top of the dash in 4 places. I used a dremmel tool to cut the hole where the wires come up through the dash top.

If I ever had to change it I would just put a blank over the holes or put a fabric type cover over the top.

I did not make a large enough hole for EVERYTHING and when I put the boost hose in I had to make the hole larger.

When I used to work for a Dealer I had to pull the dash out and talk about a MAJOR PITA:mad: It took me a full day to pull it.
