Last year after the season ended, Greg Hogue kept telling me he couldn't believe we didn't use a data logger. Most of us know what they are and what they can tell us, but we were like many that said "we can get by without it".
Well, after many conversations, Greg suggested I call Randy McMahan of RPM performance which I finally did.
Darren purchased RPM's unit and installed it last month. Randy was available to help Darren with questions, remains available as questions come up, and has provided us with top notch support after he had been paid for his product.
The unit can be configured many different ways, from mild to wild with a fair price tag the whole way. And the end result is just incredible.
The system is providing us with cylinder temps, boost, staged boost, backpressure, rpm, ambient and intake temps, accelerometer and more. The software appears to be powerful, yet easy to use. Looking at the dyno run data and comparing to track data is working really well for providing us with even more confidence that what we develop at the shop will translate to 1/4 passes. I guess what I am saying is it appears to be telling us what we thought was happening but couldn't see it to know. It also told us some we didn't think was happening but was.
I called and spoke to many companies before calling RPM. After my conversation with Randy, I knew he provided the best value for this tool out of everyone else I spoke with. If any of you guys are thinking about buying one , then a call to Randy at RPM Performance, 405-495-0454, will be well worth your time.
