I just sold the 2nd Gen and went with a Mint 04. 5 3500 DRW 6spd. Truck does not have a spare. I am in need of one. Anyone know where to look for a rim? I know the rim is 17". What is the Lug Patteren and center bore?

These things are not easy to find!

Any tire store chain can look up the specs - the new trucks have an 8 on 170mm (older trucks use an 8 on 6. 5 inch and are hub centric). Not sure if the new trucks are hub centric or locate off of the 8 lugs.

Then, if you're looking for a steel rim to match the OE, check with tire / rim stores selling upgrades and you might find some taken in as trade ins. Junk yards with damged trucks, etc.

I have had a dually since September of 1995 and to be honest, I have only used the spare once in 11 years. If you have a problem with a front tire, you can always use one from the rear and run a single to get you to a tire store. Since I went to the Alcoa's I don't even rotate anymore as the rims run so true the tires do nto go out of balance.

If you do not have steel valve stems on the rear tires, I would recommend them. Teh rubber valve stems will fail over time and your inside tire will go flat - becuase of the dueal tire set up and running 10 ply tires, you really will not notice it unless you happen to park on uneven ground.

Good luck.
