We have 2004 Buick Rainier and you do not have to touch the HL switch at all! All automagic! DL switch has a bunch of positions, however if it is set to auto you are done with it. DRL to night lights just occurs!

Now if someone from GM would jump ship and go to work for RAM with the two following objectives....
(1) Copy the GM automatic headlight / DRL system and adapt it to RAM
(2) Show them people how to make an A/C system that performs!!!!!!!! I simply cannot fathom how RAM can be so far behind on a reliable HVAC system, Chrysler is just as dismal.
Hoopty can drop the interior temperature 20 degrees in the length of this driveway in 90 degree heat. I don't own a Chrysler product that even comes close to that.
