Hey Rammers,
I have the wiring diagram for the 94-98 headlight system and it shows a separate DRL module (in engine compartment in left inner fender panel) for those trucks with DRL.
The bad news is that the diagram for trucks without DRL does not show any of the wiring for the module, so I do not think you can buy a module and then plug it it to enable DRL's - no harness at left inner fender panel.
However, it would be simple for you to make your own DRL circuit with a couple of relays. This DRL circuit would turn on the lows with ignition (at full intensity and turn off when you parked with the emergency brake on - just like the factory system). Call me if you would like me to draw and then fax a wiring diagram.
At this point, the only difference would be that the lows would illuminate at full intensity rather than at reduced brightness. Might want to check if local laws require reduced intensity. If they don't it is good for you since running halogen bulbs without full voltage kills them prematurely.
