Has anyone in canada had a drl module failure? If so what were the symtoms .

High beam indicator stays on all the time, headlights on even with the engine off and key out. By pulling the plug on the drl all works normal except no high beam indicator light. You can also get the head lights to go off by pulling the 10 amp fog light fuse in the pdc. The lights are wired so the fog lights go off when you turn on the high beams on.:confused:

FourBarR,

I took a quick look at the wiring diagrams, and it sure seems like the DRLM would be the most likely culprit based on the symptoms you described. The fact that you're not getting the high-beam indicator with the DRLM disconnected makes sense, because on vehicles equipped with a DRLM, the high-beam indicator light is grounded by the DRLM.

I thought maybe a stuck relay might cause your problem, but after looking at the wiring diagrams, I don't see how it could.

Best regards,

John L.

Thanks J Landry for quick reply I had already did the relays before I looked at the wiring diagrams. 150. 00 $ in Canada for new one. Going to check to see if there is an after market one or junk yard. all the best.

Mine failed in a similar manner (on a previous truck) -- once under warranty and twice afterwards. They seem to have a life of about four years.

The fog light operation is what Transport Canada wants. Fog lights with parking lights or low beams only.
