Anyone running the Dayton Timberline tires? They look pretty good and prices seem right.

My winter tires are these Daytons and the are wonderful in mud and snow and are holding up really well to my 100 highway miles a day. Only problem with these mud tires is they only come up to 265/75-16 and only load range C.

The Dayton Timberline ATs I'm thinking of for my wife's Blazer. .

Thanks,

Blake

Thats what came on my truck when I bought it used, brand new put on by the stealer. Switched to BFG AT's not too long ago. Those are what I have had, so thats what I can compare.

-- They didnt last that long. Got 35K out of them when I switched to BFG's. They have maybe 5K or so left on them.

-- Did not grab and fling rocks like the BFGs do. Much better from that point of view.

-- Quiet and ride ok.

-- Traction in winter time snow was OK. Have not had the BFG's on the snow yet. In general I dont think the traction is as good as the BFGs I have now.

-- I think the BFGs handle a little better.

I had a pair of 245/75s for about 30K miles that I just took off for BFG ATs. The tread was wearing well enough, but the tires were coming out of round something terrible. For an E rated tire I was not that impressed...

Thanks guys! I guess I'll mark those off the list.

Now I've narrowed it down to BFG A/Ts, General Grabber APs, Michilin XTL (I think?), or Bridgestone Dueller ATs.

Lots of folks seem to really like the BFG's. I had them on a 1976 F-150 many years ago and they seemed to wear out rather quickly. They may have changed the formula or design now.

I had the General Grabber APs on my Bronco and really loved them. But they were 35" tires with lots of meat.

I've never tried the Michilins or Duellers, but the Duellers look nice. But not sure I want to buy jap tires.
