this is the 50 cent dc fix. i had the bed off, so i took a pic . i can see how this could be a real bad fuel problem. i will put a small air filter when i am done with the bed. kp:cool:

Is this a problem on the 07's? I just got an 07 dually and am concerned. Is this something you can get to with out dropping the tank or removing the bed?

Unless its the new engine, it should be the same way. The new engine has the tank further back and in the middle of the frame. At least thats the way the 3500 cab bodies were when I looked at them this week. They use the same tank for gasser too.

It is a 5. 9. What should I do? I haven't heard of what the exact problem is, where it is, how to fix it, or what are the warning signs I even have a problem??? Thanks, Ronny...

If you look at the top post/picture, you will see two round places where hoses come out of the top of the tank both front and back. (not the middle filler/vent) These are small hoses (on mine, there was NO hose attached just the plastic elbow) Buy a tee fitting and run both these open-ended hoses to a filter.

This thread will tell you everything you ever want to know about the subject:

thats a damm good idea ,,, looks like a common lawn motor fuel filter .....

Pretty close! Go to any auto parts place and ask for a fuel filter for a '69 VW Beetle. At about 99 cents each, it's cheaper to put one on each vent than it is to buy the extra hose and a Tee (which is what I did).
