Hello all.
I have been looking at the hitch specifications on a (new) 03 2500 ETC.
The documentation tells me that the (mopar) installed Class IV hitch is good for up to 12,000lbs (non-weight-distributing).
My current hitch is a Hidden-Hitch Magnum Class V, rated at 10,000lbs (non-weight distributing). This hitch is widely regarded as the most capable (non-WD) hitch you can buy for standard ball-mount towing.
I don't know that there is an industry standard regarding the Class I, II, III, IV, V nomenclature, but I'm curious about the descrepancy.
Anyone know any more?
Thanks.
Dave
