Just had my dd2's installed saturday. All I can say is Holy Crap! This truck gets it on big time now with the dd2's & ez. You can say that the driving experience much more intoxicating. :D :D I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Brandon & Rubberneck(Phil) for making this possible. Thanks guys. Oh by the way, did I mention that these guys did this feat in just over a HALF HOUR! Thanks again guys. -Ray-

Cool!! Glad to hear you are happy. That is a great combo.

B and Phil, WOW man!!!! 1/2 hour is incredible. That is knowing what you are doing and some good teamwork, you guys rock!

How about that transmission

Yea, gotta love the upgrade. I just installed my EZ and DD2's last week and I feel the same. But I have to say, the real feeling wasn't there until I got that 91% TC and VB in. I still grin from ear to ear. Have fun. :D

Just got my DD2's installed today. (idles smoother) Your right, it made a big improvement. They work great with the PE COMP, even with the wire unhooked. Maybe before the weeks out I can get it hooked up. Sounds like a PDR HX35 is in order now. :) :) :)

Good move Ray,I put mine in recently ,a great improvement. Your gonna have to save your penny,s though cos you. ll be wanting a comp before too long to really put some fuel through those dd2,s which will need you to upgrade your transmission to handle the power. Then your gonna have to ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

When does it end?Its all fun though.

Ian

I want some too!! Are they on sale some place? I can't make up my mind on the DD2's or DD3's. If I run with my Comp off would I get better mpg's with the 2's and would the 3's hurt my mpg's?

BMC96, I totally agree with you about the engine being smoother. It should have came from the factory like this. :D The only downside to the dd2+ez combo is that I have to baby it for the time being until I get the DTT mods for my transmission. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

TORQUS MAXIMUS, you won't believe the difference when you get the transmission upgrade. I waited tell I got the transmission done first before any power upgrades because I knew I would taer it up. The transmission upgrade alone was a power increase. On my 96 5 speed I did the power upgrades first and it would slip the clucth pretty quick.

more smiles per mile

Start saving for your Bill K. makeover and if you have the time why not drive up there and back. He's practically in your backyard!

I did the roundtrip from LA myself last year, before heading off to the east coast and then shipped my rig back to Europe. 20k miles later and it's still as good. You won't regret it!!

38 minutes from shut down to start up to be exact. I even used a torque wrench :p

Yeah, we have put a few sets in before, but this was the first time we did the tag team effort. Ray forgot to add the truck was fresh off the street (read real hot, ouch, ouch). next time were gonna shoot for sub 30 minute install. LOL Hey whata ya guys think, May Madness, injector install shootout. kind of like indy car pitcrew contest. Or we could do clutch install, or maybe head gasket:eek: I think the entire centrall valley has been infected with the bomb bug... ... Lots o wrenchin going on lately

Brandon & Phil - Congrats on a great team effort on Ray's truck. You guys get real good and fast, I'll be on my way south for my new fuel system install :D:D:D

(sometime this year I'm hoping... )

Hi Ian ! Good to hear from you again. As you can see from my Avatar, my location has changed (again) First Germany, then Ireland and now in South East Asia. If you are planning to visit the UK give me a plenty of notice and if at all possible I'll try and schedule some home leave.

Cummins is well represented throughout the world so I'm not overly concerned there... . it's what wrapped around the CTD you have to keep an eye on! I kissed goodbye to warranty issues well before (the moment) I left the USA but the modifications I performed before I left have been working okay so far, apart from a few minor niggles with my SPA gauges, easily resolved with some excellent support from SPA in England and the USA.

According to Einstein, it's all relative Colin! ;)Seriously though, putting on the miles is what the CTD was designed for and with my supporting modifications I wanted to give them all a good road test before I left the USA. We made the trip up to British Columbia over one (long)weekend and then returned to LA a week later by the "(longer) scenic route" (with a detour through Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada).

The only part of the trip that was awkward was passing through the customs post at the US/Canadian border crossing at Aldergrove. Driving a truck with Montana Tags, US tourist vehicle insurance issued in California, a British driver's licence and export shipping paperwork from New York prompted many questions with the US customs officer.....

Brandon, I may try to head up that way in a couple of weeks. Where would I find you? I've been having this injector itch.
