dd and edge box?

Whats the difference between the dd ufm, and the edge comp. Just curious.

The way I understand it is the comp adds timeing, the UFM does not for those who don't want timeing advance or have large injectors because the injectors cause a timeing advance.

The Edge is programmed to be a stand-alone type mod, the DD is programmed to be a complimentary mod and work as well as possible with injectors.

The DDUFM does include timing. Call Keith at DD.



I have the DDUFM and asked around a bunch before and after I got it. It is an EDGE box with some DD tinkering.



General consensus is that you might find smoke more controllable with big injectors and the UFM.



Both will give you very similar power levels and adjustablility. The kicker for me was that Keith put me on a used UFM.

I thought the guys at DD tweaked the edge comp to provide a little smoother delivery of the fuel. Perhaps they made the usable torque curve a tad wider, but i thought they were just controlling the fuel flow to make it a little less harsh on delivery. In the end though aren't the power numbers really similar?

We're not going to see direct comparison HP/TQ numbers from DD or Edge. They're in business together, and that's quite understandable.



But if somebody wants to swap with me at a dyno event--that'd be cool...

Yeah I can understand that, I just thought that someone along the lines sat down with the 2 boxes and ran the dyno's on them. Let's try to not make this a brand war about the powermax's and BD's and all the others.
