who has what and how much and often do you tow , truck specs would be nice , trying to decide between 1 and 2's .

How much weight is he towing? It's not really worth it for me to post about towing,because I only tow a very small equipment trailer on weekends. DDII/ETC/6spd/3. 54

With the EZ and DD2's and 9,000 lbs in tow, EGT's are manageable. Now depending on what kind of grades he plans on attempting, this might be of concern, along with how much weight he's towing.
On the big longs grades, it does get hotter than one would like. In this instance, disconenct the bus connection of the EZ, and run on injectors and the boost module.

I thought I read that above DD1's and the EZ the clutch was in question of holding the power. Brett at EDGE said the timing aspect of the EZ actually lowered the EGT's and by disconecting the data link, I think you defeat this feature. I have DD1's and the EZ set on the mildest setting. I am very happy with this setup towing loads @20,000-22,000 CGVW. This is JMO.

I have DDIIs and tow quite heavy on a routinne basis. Ram 3500 QC, Cabover Camper, plus a 4-horse trailer loaded to the gills. I cross the scales at 22,500 fully loaded. I also have the ajustable competition PM3, but when loaded, I leave it on "0". The DD-IIs provide more than enough power for me to set the cruise at 72-75 mph and forget about it. I have had NO problem topping any hills that I encounter at legal speeds or higher. My original clutch looked like new when it came out @ 80,000 miles, it just couldn't handle the PM3 above setting 3.

I think towing is easier on your drive train than crashing the gears in drag races. The shock loads that your driveline sees when shifting hard in a vehicle capable of 800+ ft lbs are incredible. I'm still amazed at the punishment these trucks take (mine included). When I'm towing, I shift easy, ease into the power, and never lug. This has to be easier than jammin gears and going sideways #ad

What I think was the wrong info is my trailer alone ways in at 26-28k plus my truck little nervous on the two's with the automatic i am really undecided between the two so anymore help would be appreciated thanks
