I need some opinions for a 2001. 5 6spd 4x4 quad cab, pulling 10000 a couple times a week and lots of running around. Got the gauges, getting ready to pull the muffler off and strait pipe it. So what is the big difference in the two.

Not much difference. The DD is designed for the eth and DDIIIs, Otherwise either will work.

I have both the DD module and the EZ module.

They appear identical in every way on the outside. Obviously made by the same factory.

I cannot tell them apart in performance on the mildest of the three settings. I have not tried the more aggressive settings. Maybe they have different timing maps, but I cannot determine any difference.

My impression in dealing with both vendors who are very polite after trying both is that the EZ is relabelled to become a DD.

The DD is a better price, especially if you want a KN air filter. DD also offers 20% to TDR members.

now I am confused on what to go with DD, EZ or injectors. if one had to pick which one would you go with. and where is the cheapest place to pick this stuff up??

I think the bottom line is what you will add after the box, the EZ is great alone, the DD box will help provide less smoke if you add injectors later. Sure, you could just add some injectors and forget the box, but you may have an egt concern later while towing as you can't make enough boost to keep the egt's down. For ease of installment/removal and higher boost readings, the EZ install Vs the injector install is a no brainer, the EZ takes about 10 minutes to install, the injectors will take a while longer. You have to remember, the DD box is the same as the EZ, except the jumper settings differ to accomodate the addition of high HP injectors.

Mike, the bang for the buck is a lot bigger with the box than it is with stage one or stage two injectors. I have not had any experience with the stage three injectors so I don't know what they are like. My vote is to get the box and at some point you can get some injectors to really put some power down. DD advertises that the DD TTPM and stage one injectors makes 304 HP and 635 torque. If you have not driven a truck with that kind of power, you are in for a real treat.

Mike, the EZ is a great box, and makes the most power increase under 2500RPM's. It has a big torque increase, which makes driving your Cummins fun.

the DD box is made by edge , it has different jumper settings and lawerence specified timing and fuel curves to work well with DD injectors . what i like about the DD version is it has a timing ONLY setting where the edge i believe has added fueling in all jumper settings . the timing only is the key to reduced smoke with bigger injectors , this is my biggest complaint with the VA , the fueling added , even with 275's it will smoke at lo boost and my mileage dropped some , about . 5 mpg , but the kick it gives more than makes up for the decrease #ad

i will be switching from the VA to a DDTTM (their EZ version) . i think the timing only will give a mileage boost and thats why i bought this thing to begin with .
 
Are the injectors in the ETC the same as the ETH and if so is there anything that can be done to them to get them to perform better?? I had heard they can be milled out or somthing to get more fuel out of them?
 
mike , the term is extrude hone , a slurry is pushed thru the nozzle to make the holes bigger , on my stock ones you can't see the holes with the naked eye , i can see them on my dd3's though #ad
... as far as them being the same between the ETC and ETH , i doubt it . if you want bigger injectors you have to buy them , from someone , you can't modify yours yourself , easily and cheaply anyway

Hi y'all. New member. Been lurking around for a while, long enough to be infected with the BOMBing bug anyway, decided it was 'bout time to make an "investment". I've owned my truck for about a year, and it's amazing how slow it's become since I've been reading here... ;-)!

Regarding the boost and fueling boxes: Are the HP additions provided by these boxes additive? eg. PE EZ + PE = 155HP added? Since Edge Products is releasing a combination of the two, I thought this might be the case. Does the TST Powermax 3 basically function the same as the PE EZ + EZ or more like just the PE?

I know it's been said before but this forum's members are tops!!

44, the DD module is not adjustable on the fly. You have to open it and move a jumper wire. There is a timing only, timing plus fuel after 3 lbs of boost for stock injectors, and timing plus fuel after 20 lbs of boost for trucks w/bigger injectors.
