What is involved in changing the settings in the DD-TTPM.

1. ) Is it easily accessable, or does a cover need to be removed.

2. ) How often do you change settings.

3. ) If settings are changed often, is the ultimate fuel module a better bet.

4. ) Is it water tight (being under the hood)

5. ) How good is the warranty on the box, and do they have a good track record for long life.

Just kicking around options between a TTPM vs. UFM with DDII's pulling a 7000 lb. travel trailer.

Don't want to drag race, just want it to PULL...

I will try to answer your questions but bear in mind that mine is about 3 years old. That should say something about the longevity.

1. On mine, there are two screws to remove to get the end plate off. Takes about a minute.

2. As often as I feel necessary.

3. I can't answer that but I don't see a need for changing settings often. On mine, there are three settings:

1. Timing only ( I never use this setting).

2. Fueling after 12 lbs. boost. (I have found this to be best for

towing economy).

3. Fueling after 2 lbs. boost. (This is for fun).

4. Absolutely watertight with a rubber seal on the cap. Have never had a problem.

5. I can't say about the warranty as I never had to use it but folks at DD can be a little obstinate at times. At least that has been my experience.

The TTPM is an excellent box to complement your injectors and I can highly recommend it. You will definitely like it.

Jumper settings

I just received a TTPM and I find the instructions a little ambiguous as to jumper settings. First it says the default is level 3 but it came with a single jumper in the leftmost position, which does not correspond with any of the setting diagrams. The instructions refer to moving a single jumper to one of 3 positions, but there are 2 jumpers according to the diagrams. I called DD and they told me to place 2 jumpers in the rightmost positions for level 3. This corresponds to the instruction sheet. It's almost like they updated the diagrams but not the descriptive text. Can anyone confirm this info? TIA

Jim

They are supposed to be shipped to us from Edge with the two jumpers on the left (Setting 3). Occaisonally, they do not set them properly.

Thanks Keith. Below is an excerpt from the instructions I received. If the jumpers should be on the left for level 3, then the instructions are incorrect. I took a brief test drive with the jumpers on the right as instructed and didn't notice a lot of difference but I will move them and try it again.

Jim

Jim,

Your instructions are correct, I looked at mine to verify them. I can tell when I've moved the jumpers, even before the injector install it had more low end with both jumpers in the right hand setting.

Instructions are correct.

Just to put this to bed once and for all, the diagrams are correct but I think the text needs work. Anyway, I tried it both ways and it is definitely more responsive when the 2 jumpers are on the center and right positions. It will be a couple more months until I can pull the TT to really test it out.

One more question

OK, just got the RV275s in and have another question. (Sorry about that :D ) Should I move the TTPM to setting 2 with these injectors or can I leave it at setting 3? TIA

Jim

I love my DD TTPM (setting 3) with the RV275's! However, I was never able to get my question answered as to the following:

I realize that the two boxes are both made by Edge, but was curious as to why the TTPM uses two jumpers while the EZ uses only one to set the different fueling levels. I'm sure that doesn't mean that all six maps are available to us? Anybody have an explanation?

Thanks for answering where the boxes default to under the single jumper scenario. I'm just baffled as to why the box uses an addressing scheme of 8 possible positions with only 3 total maps for each (and unique at that)?

000

001 (TTPM)

010 (TTPM), (maybe EZ disable timing)

011 (EZ)

100 (TTPM)

101 (EZ)

110 (EZ)
