This might be a stupid question, but can DD1s be made into DD2s or 3s,is there something that can be reconfigured on these injectors to get more fuel out of them??
Diesel Dynamics make some great injectors and Lawrence could best answer your question. That said, the DD1's could be extrude honed to pass more fuel or the tips could be changed to a different design but I suspect that the cost would be much greater than trading up or selling the smaller ones to finance the upgrade. Don't hesitate to ask questions and sort through the different opinions before making a decision. Big injectors on the ISB = big 's!!
An injector change with corresponding boost module and wastegate elbow will make from 25 to over 125hp increase, depending on which injector. Someone else chime in here, but Bully Dog and Diesel Dynamics have both produced "stealth" injectors by
modifying stock injectors that would be VERY difficult to identify. Actually it is unlikely that a dealer would go to the trouble of removing the valve cover, injector lines etc. to check for a nonstock injector(but it could happen). Your automatic engine will readily respond to larger injectors, even Dodgeboyz's DD1's . Be aware that your stock transmission doesn't do a very good job of passing the torque to the rear wheels so any hp modification will be most noticeable when your torque convertor is locked. BOMB's away !
