I have an '01 ETH that is stock except for the BHAF and 4" stacks. Iwould like a little more power(and smoke). I've heard that the ETH's love injectors and don't like fueling boxes too much, is this true? Will it driveability stay close to stock with the DD2's? I was also wondering if there is a way to reduce the voltage signal from the MAP sensor so that I can run more boost w/o setting the overboost code? I've heard about the JVD boost fooler(?) is this what it does? Or can I just put a resistor in the voltage sensing wire from the MAP sensor. If I went that route, I'm thinking of doing it in a short harness between the MAP and Its plug. Is this idea workable and safe for my truck?

Yes your ETH will run a LOT better with DD2's. Driveability is affected some, but not a lot. With the injectors slick roads (wet roads too) will require a little finesse on the smoke pedal to keep from spinning, but all in all it will be more pleasant to drive.

Building your own boost module will be an excercise in futility. You can buy them for under $150 all day long brand new. You can buy used ones out of the classifieds for $75 or so if you keep your eyes open. It does not modify the signal to the ECM all the time, it simply clips the voltage once above a certain level. Check out Practical Solutions, I do not know of a cheaper boost module. They are all basically the same BTW, none will make more power than any other etc, and the PS is well made.

I ran out of fuel at the entrance to a Chevron Station. Although I shut it down immediately, I had to nextel our diesel mechanic to come and try to fuel it up and get it started. He tried doing every thing, but the only thing that got it started was to loose # 6 injector line 'till it got rid of air' and finally it started. I then drove 15 feet to the pump and filled up.

Shortly afterward my lift pump failed and was replaced under warranty. Since, my lift pump gives me 5 psi at just key turn on, but 15 psi when running. ???

Truck runs great so I'll wait 'till something else happens.

Huh?

LOL RobbyRam. . . are we talking "injector upgrades" or "running out of fuel?" :) heh heh

Your fuel pressure sounds fine. I bet with DD2s it would start faster :D

Oh, you already have DD2s. Oh well never mind

Futility? Never!... you can build one for REALLY CHEAP! I have the PS unit... it works great

DD2's are nice, but I like my DD3's better!

A resistor in the MAP curcuit is not a good idea. The ECM needs to see accurate boost up to 22 PSI, but not over 22 PSI. You need a "Clipping Circuit".

send Gordon at Practical Solutions an e-mail... he will hook you up with a module and elbow! He is a great guy... he helped me and Vaughn a bunch with our problematic ETH defueling issues. :D ;)
