Sky... this is an age old question, and been batted around with some very strong opinions on several ocassions!

Go to: diesel dynamics and check out their graphs. Others, highly respected on this board, say they have dynoed the 275s at 45-50hp on different engines. (ETH, ETC). Joe Donnelly was one.

The one factor to consider is that the DD injectors are balanced to within 1 1/2 percent. The Bosch 275 injectors are only balanced to within 11 percent. I was happy with my 275s til I got the bug for more power. I believe the DD injectors made my Cummins idle a bit smoother. Balancing? Plume? Or just my imagination? Who knows.

You will read lots of stuff on this. Some will say DD is balanced to 1 percent and the 275s are not balanced at all. Not true. You can call DD, and they will even tell you the above facts.

Sky... .

If you really want to turn those 33's, don't mess around. Get the DD2's and be pretty much assured you've "cured" your injector addiction. JMO

Don't forget to ask DD for the TDR discount (I think it's still valid?)

The DD2's will give a better top end and quiter idle than the DD1's. Cooler egt's too. DD1's or 2's will aso give more smoke. The sop meter will not justify the power increse to dollar ratio of 275 to DD1's. Get the 2's.

I am doing more transmission component change outs to allow me to go back to DD2's with my Torqus Maximus,( would stall when put in gear ) The DD1's are barely tollerable while towing, Have lost about 5 mph on some long grades wot w/ lite winds that the DD2's will pull at part throttle @ 75mph in 40 to 50 mph winds.

Piers Super turbo on order too.
