Im thinking about gettig DDIII's but unsure of egt problems. Anybody running them with a similar setup? I pull around 9000# occasionally

I have a new set of DDIII here still in the box never been run,my brother had a set of them with an HX40 turbo waste gate was closed ETG on top end was up a little,if he would of had the wastegate hooked up no problem, but with a stock turbo towing, there going to be hot.

towing with my DDII's, EGT's are not a problem with a stock HX 12 cm turbo. I was thinking about uprgading to III's but the temps scare me.

i went from dd2 to dd3 i will tow for the first time today never had temp issue before if so i'll drop down a gear bring up the rpms and let the mighty cummins roar !!! :-laf

I've been running DDIII's for a few years now on my 99, this is with a True torque power module for DD, 4" exhaust and a BHAF. I've never had an EGT problem with them and I used to pull 30k pounds on the farm all the time. Normal driving, I never get over 1200 degrees pre turbo. I put them in at 60k miles and the truck is getting ready to turn 200k in a month or so. I still have the stock hx 35 and my original VP44.

You haven't mentioned what turbo you are running?

Its a stock hx35. I wonder if the exhaust brake will have a significant effect on the flow of the 4" exhaust? If so ill take it off when i do the stacks.

Is there any way to tell what injectors are in it by looking at them?(serial # or somthing) This truck is stronger than my other 01 3500 and this injector pump is shot.

I have the dd3's and love them, I also have a comp box, stock turbo, original vp44, 4 inch exhaust, pacbrake mounted on the turbo and I do fine with EGT's, I can get it hot if I try and pull with the box on too high, so I usually just turn it off or put it on 1x3. I will load up a 36' flat bed and haul round bales all day and never worry. I have about 80,000 miles on with this setup the way it is. 155,000+ on the truck total.

Forgot to mention that I have a Jacobs E-Brake on my truck as well. I wouldn't take it off as they usually don't restrict the exhaust flow when turned off.
