How do the DDP4's compare to the 370's in regards to smoke, power, milage and egts. I m trying to get my smoke and egts down without sacraficing power and milage. Thanks in advance.

DDP4's have lower smoke levels (because of correct spray pattern), cooler EGT's, and better fuel economy. I have achieved 19MPG with my DDP4 injectors with 4. 10s and 35" tires on the highway. Power levels are also higher.

DDP4's are an upgrade in every aspect compared to 370's IMO.

A question for anyone who knows. How do you change the spray angle with a honing machine? I know an EDM machine can do this.

I don't believe they are able to. I'm guessing DDP starts with a 435 tip or an EDM tip and then Extrude Hone them. I can't remember what Ross told me they used for the Stage 4's.

i will say having my head off this week, they still spray slightly outside of the bowl. With the thin washers also... .

And at what timing is that at?

I made a post along time ago (pics in readers rigs) about 370's spray pattern using stock pistons. What I basically came up with is at anything past 18 degrees your on the edge of the bowl. This is with stock configuration, meaning not a thicker gasket or a decked head.

I'm running stock 370 right now but would rather opt for a set of stage 2 or 3's from I. I. and save the EDM's for events or sell them. To make them work with this pump (it's no slouch) and a single I had to back the plate off to about the middle vise 3/4 forward.

Not knocking there injectors as people seem to like them just fine and allot over a 370, but they are twice the price.

Not to be taking away from anybody, but talk to the tractor pullers and even Jeff Garmon. Garmon point blank told me he can get more power out of a honed set than he can with EDM's. The honing process will get you more power over the EDM. The best combo would be EDM for the correct spray angle, then honing process. One reason to EDM is cost. It takes time on a honing machine. The more you want to take out the longer on the hone. The II's seem to be pretty good, not hearing any complaints and they are doing some pretty cool stuff. I mean how many people really need 750HP. I run the DDP 4's and really like them I would suppose they would support 800HP if you have the air. Lenny was putting down 800+ with a N20 and a 13 mm pump, said it was still black.

I bought my injectors from Jeff Garmon before Lenny had his Extrude Hone machine, I believe that alot of people don't grasp that there are only two companies in the U. S. that have this machine. The process developed by Extrude Hone is called abrasive flow machining. My injectors have 8 hole EDM tips that were abrasive flowed, and they came directly from Pennsylvania. Check out their website www.extrudehone.com/diesel.html the fuel gallery machining pictures are worth looking at. Remember extrude honing is a machining process, and Extrude Hone is the name of a company, I think this throws some people off.

My stage 4's added just alittle bit on egt's smoke just the same as 370's with the exception of at idle and did not change milage at all! With that said I am still happy with them, if you have the air they were worth 40hp/120tq over the 370's they replaced.

Dynomite Diesel Stage 4's will support over 1000hp. Same injectors MADDOG is running. That is what lenny told me when i ordered mine. Of course you will need a big pump and lots of other stuff to achieve that.

I'm just going to say becareful guys. I have heard of MULTIPLE major failures due to DD4's.

The details are not mine to say. They aren't my trucks. When everything is finalized and the lawyers are done, then I can say.

DD or DDP?

Cant say i have seen anything on here about DDP, not that Im doubting you, just figure if its a bum product, it would hit here before the courthouse.

jim

DD4's.

The reason that it hasn't hit here is the one owner of the truck is on other forums, and would prefer to get things handled between He and DD.

Honestly, it's not my battle. I just have seen the results. If it was me, trust me pictures and everything would be forthcomming.
