I'm sure this has been drug out already, but nothing on the search. I'm looking to upgrade inj soon but am not sure of the relationship between bosch 275, rv 275, ???275, BD's or DD's (I assume either I's or maybe II's)? I would be using with EZ, stock turbo, and DTT TC ??%. Aiming for minimal smoke. Just curious. A little confusing for the newbe. Thanks

Injectors

The Bosch 275 injectors are used in the 275 HP version of this engine in RV's, hence the name.

The BD's are Bully Dog injectors, the DD's are Diesel Dynamics injectors.

The BDs and DDs come in various sizes, or steps of performance. The BD injectors at the 1, 2, and 3rd stage are advertised to put out just a little more horsepower than the DD injectors at the comparable stage.

With the EZ box, either 275's,1's or 2's from either maker will provide a very nice power combination.

I have the BD1s and the EZ box, with DTT 89% TC and VB, and am very satisfied with the results.

I have a little smoke when I want to make it, but it is not obnoxious with regular driving. I have no egt problems, I can't get hotter than 1100* pre turbo.

I believe that with the stage 2's I might have a bit more smoke to go with the greater horsepower.

but at this time don't need a horsepower fix. [but what is that itch under my right foot??]:D:D

I think you can find horsepower and torque charts on the websites for both BD and DD.

Enjoy the new performance!! Greg L

With DTT upgrades..........

You can go to a larger injector. I have the DD2's and smoke is totally controlable. I can lay a cloud if I want but normal driving is fine. I'm at sea level though so if your at a higher elevation it could be worse.

I usally drive with my EZ one one and the injectors carry the load. I rigged a switch to go to #3 if I need some extra get up and go or smoke which ever is applicable. :D :D

Thanks, all set

that's what I was looking for. Joe, that's a great comparason chart. Really made it simple. Thanks again.

Brada!

Bra... fo you I would recommend DD 2's and an EZ box... With your auto this is an excellent combo, trust me. You can't get up to real high speeds in Honolulu for a long period of time, even going out to EWA. You can get by with only a valve body up-grade for your auto... Don't need 4" exhaust either... You will be very happy with this set-up. aloha, Heberl:D

Go with some DD injectors... Each set is balanced withing 1. 5%, while the 275's are between 10% and 13%. DD's stuff will give you a smoother running truck. Bully Dog's injectors generally are more smokey than the rest.

Are you guys sure about the bosch 275s' being as much as 10-13 % out of balance?. Mine seem to run smooth. added 48 hp and 90 Tq as well

Keep in mind balancing the injectors when new sounds nice but doesn't mean much. You can balance a set to within 1% and run them 200 miles and they will vary 10-15%. If you really want your moneys worth have them balanced after you run them a while. This gives all the parts a chance to seat good. They still won't stay within 1% but won't vary as much.
