Hi,
I'm a new member to the TDR and am going to order the 91% DDT tc and vb next week. Is there any other transmission parts that should be installed at that time? I have a 98. 5 w/52k miles on it.
I will work on my signature as soon as I can get back to that page.

Dan, It would be worth your while to make the trip up to Abbotsford for your VB & TC
installation.

Bill's Crew is A1

Take Care,
Bob

PS Welcome to the TDR!!!

Thanks,
I have found a shop in Porland that Bill has talked to and he thinks they will do a good job. But the real ??? is there anything that needs to be done to the transmission while it's out, since there is 52k miles on it?

Dan,

The transmission guy should make the normal pressure tests before it's pulled. If they are ok you're in good shape to just do the install.

Hey Dan,

I just got mine done. Im in the southern part of Oregon. I had mine installed a couple weeks ago by a shop in Redding, which is about 6 hrs from you. I called that guy in Portland (or was is Salem?), he did not impress me at all with the first conversation. Plus the guys in Redding did alot better price and a bunch of extras. Might be worth a trip for ya.

Dan... .

welcome to the TDR.

Bob and Jack are right on.....

IMHO, you're too close not to find a way to go to Bill for this. You'll have a great time and never meet nicer people. When Darin or Vinnie take you out for the final road test you won't believe the magic these folks weave... ... sorry, didn't mean to get sappy. ;(

I live 90 min. south of you, and would take this trip again in a heartbeat. No disprespect meant for any other installer.

In any event, you'll love your new truck.

Hey Dan, do yourself (and your Ram) a favor and have Bill and his select crew perform your transmission upgrade. It's really not that far from Tigard... and the job you will receive will be unmatched by anyone. #ad

I just had mine done by Clay Carrington in Morgan, UT and could'nt be happier. You may want to consider putting in the '95 cooler line w/temp sensor if your thinking of a trany temp gauge. Having a Dodge dealer do the transmission work is great. He spotted a input seal leak and changed it out under warranty. I supplied the fluid, cooler line and sensor and four and half hours later it's done for $405. Can't say enough about Carrington Motors.

From what i understand the 93% is more aggresive in shifting and is recomended if your going to do serious bombing, I got the 91% that bill recomended. See my mods. I think most people get the 91%

<font color = blue> Dan, I can only reiterate what others have already said before not only in this particular thread... . being this close to DTT is your perfect excuse to determine your preferred installation location... . you may have to wait a bit longer for a mutually convenient slot in DTT's schedule #ad
though.

I made the round trip myself from Europe, which was a no-brainer for me.
BTW, get your gauges installed before and not during the VB&TC install - Bill won't want another Deja Vu experience #ad

Can someone post the advantages to having a 91% verses a 93% TC installed? What about lock-up speed disengagement? Is 37 mph a good choice?
Thanks! Dave

Before DTT I would go into OD at around 40-45. Now its between 50-55. Which is perfect for me now because at about 60mph my rmps are at about 1600. Before (stock) it was way to early.
