I took my truck in to have the oil changed at my local masterlube. THey are great guys. I alternate between them and my dealer. They offered me a new Diesel engine additive that you put into the crank just before you drain the old oil. Let it idle 3-5 minutes then drain as usual. Supposed to clean the engine etc... Has anyone else ever used this stuff or similar product? Thanks!!!

B-12 Chemtool, Powerservice motor clean, the list goes on. I (for many reasons) use the Amsoil Motor Flush. I only use it when converting vehicles from organic to synthetic, as the synthetics have much more robust cleaning additives to them. Once a quality synthetic is in use periodic motor flushes aren't really needed.

Any brand of penetrating oil will also work.

If you are changing your oil as often as you should, I don't see why the procedure would EVER be needed... except before changing to synthetic oil as mentioned above!

Thanks for all the replys!! I am OBSESSIVE on maintanence! My oil gets changed every 3,000 no matter what!!! Rear diff, fuel filters, air filters every 3,000 etc... Well, the ol girl has been good to me so an engine flush after 64,000 is A-OK with me!
