This may be a dumb question but can anyone post a pic of how best to route the heater cable?

I just assumed the heater and cable woudl be installed in a Diesel but they arent. I went back to the dealer to see if they can install it for me, its a $80 option for the cable when you buy the truck... They quoted me $75 for labor and $100 for the cable. I bought one from genos garage that monts in the bumper for $40

I see where it plugs intot he heater but not sure of the best way to route it, from the bottom or the top? any feedback would be most appreciated :)

They usually come straight out from the heater then down with the cord ultimately coming out near the right front tow hook. I like to zip tie the cable to several stationary components AND making sure there is ample slack to avoid stressing the cable as the engine moves.

Update, well I sprayed my truck off last night after work, went home and pluged her up again and this morning it was working.
I checked the ring on the block and it was tight that's all I did.
Not sure what happened but was happy to see it working again.
Thanks for everyone's help.
Blake.

By the way the temp gauge on the Jetta this morning was at 170 degrees before I started the engine, that's a nice!!!!!:-laf

Mike.

That's incredible! I know mine gets pretty dang hot but I wouldn't have guessed that. What were the ambient temps?

Here's some pictures of mine, from there I just ran it along the hoses nice and loose like up to the right side tow hook. Hardest part was getting it over the smaller radiator hose and tighten the wire time there to hold it I'm place.

Wasn't a real cold night, about 20 degrees out. It dropped down to about 140 when I started it but I had interior heat right out of the gate.

Anxious to see how it does below zero, I'm sure I'll get a chance to find out soon.
