Well first of all, check all fuses and does the light on the steering wheel come on? If so, it is prob not an electrical problem. Our cruise control is run by vacuum. As the truck being 11 years old now, you prob. have a vacuum issue. Check the vacuum diaphgram with a vacuum tester to see if it holds pressue. If it does, i would guess you have a leaking rubber vacuum hose or a bad vacuum pump. How is your 4x4 working and your HVAC controls? When these vacuum operated items become weak it is from a bad vacuum pump that is pushing engine oil into the vacuum controls... Easy quick way to check that is look for oily residue on the inside of some of the vacuum hoses.
