I just installed a new Autometer Pyro. Lights work, but no reading. Maybe my BHAF is SO efficient that I have no exhaust temp! I went back through the wiring, all checked out. I pulled the sensor, wiped off the soot (obvious in the exhaust flow), and reinstalled. Still no readings. It is installed pre-turbo. Any suggestions? Thanks

Did you check to make sure it is getting power? Im not sure which gauge you have, but the light probably gets its power from a seperate source than the meter. If there is a red wire, it needs to be hooked up to an ignition switched 12v lead. How about continuity through the wires? Pyrometers can be sensitive about the leads going to the sensor, make sure there are no kinks and that there are good conections. I know you said you checked the wiring, but if its not the wiring you probably have a defective part.

Thanks. I'll check for kinks in the line. I did wire the lights and power seperately. Where the lead wires (from the sensor) connect to the longer wires to the gauge there is a little bend so that the connection from the seperate wires don't touch. The lead from the sensor is has no kinks. How would I test the wire coming from the sensor to make sure there is a signal? The gauge is an Autometer Phantom.

Thanks. I checked everything out and still can't get a reading. Maybe a bum sensor. Darn, back to SummitOo. .
