Dead Truck

Well, I suppose this could be considered a follow up post to the one I sent last night under "Help Surging Engine". I plugged it in last night, went to start it an hour ago and nothing. The lift pump is very audible, but after that, just the starter noise. I should have ignored the dealer's advice not to check get my lift pump checked as part of the two recalls I've received over my one year of ownership. They said "bring it in for your own piece of mind, but we've never seen a bad one" This, and I was just going to write DC a nice letter, telling them what a great machine they had put together. Oh well, I'll probably still write the thing, as it's not their fault. What a pain: 30" of snow expected and my truck's dead. It's going to be a piece of work for the wrecker guy to get it out of the garage. The good news is that the dealership is only 3 miles away. This should be fun (note that as heavy sarcasm).

Maybe there's an upside - if it's stranded in your garage, no dufus can smash into it in the bad weather.

Its probably something simple like a bad lift pump. Be thankfull you are still under warranty.

The boss called me tonight and said don't bother coming to work Monday. Maybe not even Tuesday. Big Blizzard on the way.

Another thought is that you have a marginally bad alternator. Mine was replaced two weeks ago. Got in the truck, everything seemed go in the start sequence until I hit the starter. thought it was bad battery. Jump started it, got it to the dealer and the mechanic put on the ol' bus analyzer. Came back and said it sometimes charges. . sometimes don't.

Wouldn't explain the surging though. Maybe two different problems?
