Thanks, TDR Staff

can anyone look at a vehicle for me located in the ft.lauderdale area?

Go Cart trannys?

A few months ago I sold an item to a fellow TDR member. Figuring he was trustworthy, I agreed to ship the item to him and he agreed to send me a check (I'll never do that again... . ). After not recieving payment, I thought maybe it was lost in the mail and PM'd him. He said he mailed a check, but agreed to send another. A couple months later I haven't received anything, and now he will not respond to email or PM's.

The cost of the item ($20) isn't a huge deal, but I paid almost as much out of my pocket to ship it to him. The fact that he won't pay up - and is now ignoring my PM's/emails - has really angered me.

Any suggestions on what to do next? I never figured I'd have a problem with a fellow TDR member, but I guess I was wrong.

If you sent him a postal money order, I would go down to the local post office and start a mail fraud investigation.

Or just bug him til he does pay up.

Good luck, no one likes dead beats!

Unfortunately, I sold the item to him, and made the mistake of shipping it before I received payment. :( Still, it may be worth a call to the Postal Inspector to see if the fraud statute applies here.....

Dan, even certain TDR members can not be trusted, in more ways then what you have stated here :( you can always put out their name here and maybe they will show up at a event sooner or later and who knows what may happen!!

Some way to post feedback would be nice. One of the Jeep forums I participate in had a running thread in the "For Sale" section where you could post good or bad feedback on buyers and sellers.

The person is a moderator on another TDR website and I hoped that was an indicator that he was trustworthy. I PM'd the guy again last night, but still haven't heard anything back. According to message tracking he hasn't logged in for a few days, so maybe he's just busy on the farm and all.....

Probably referring to the DTR - Diesel Truck Resource...

And the idea of a good/bad transction thread over in the for sale area sounds good to me...

I have shipped over a hundred mounts to tdr members, and have never been bitten by one.

This is not a major problem for tdr members.

You should hear, most guys are surprised at the offer, and you can hear it in their voice, these guys are good people.

If I do get burnt, its my bad and I will learn a lesson.

Glad to hear most TDR members are trustworthy - I expected as much. :) This really does seem to be a good group, and I have received a lot of good advice and info here. This has been the only negative experience I've had on TDR.

I also have certainly learned a lesson: Don't send the item until payment is received. ;)

As unfortunate as it is you do have to be careful. I just wrapped up getting a set of 8 LED's out to a member in England. I sourced them ... got hung up on a sick back order list, got them and finally sent them off to him and he got em this week. And even on the International level you can get screwed to the fence. But being a trusting TDR member and himself being a man of quality it went great! I do hope resolve gets your way soon.

I'm really hoping this is just an oversight on his part and everything will get resolved soon. Believe me, I know that stuff happens and sometimes things are beyond our control. If that is the case here, a simple reply to PM or email so we could work things out once conditions improve would be more than acceptable to me. Being blown off and ignored tells me otherwise, though. :(

BTW - What kind of LEDs are you talking about? I've been kicking around a few ideas for the Jeep to get rid of the rock-grabbing stock taillights. I haven't hit them... yet, but it's just a matter of time. ;) Some kind of flush-mounted taillights would be nice... .
