Hi all, I just had a injector pump replaced because it was leaking. Dealer did a great job in a timely fashion. However, they topped off my oil. Only problem is, they probably topped it off with regular petro oil and I'm running AMSOIL. I'm headed to Salt Lake City in the morning and its too late for me to get my hands on AMSOIL to change it. Is this going to screw anything up? Or can it wait another 2,000 miles?? I have noticed a difference in the engine. I can hear the valves a bit more now so I'm a little concerned.

Should not be a problem. All the synthetic oils that I am familiar with claim to be compatable with conventional oils. You might want to consider putting some kind of tag on the oil fill cap stating "see owner before adding oil" or something like that. Same thing on the gear boxes if appropriate.

I can't think of any reason it would be harmful. I don't think it would change the sound of your engine either, especially just a top off.

You can run your oil without chaining it. I would just go to your normal change out schedule. It will be fine. I have done this with no problems;)

If you would like, I can perhaps help you. call me. My number is in the yellow pages of the phone book. Look under Oils, Lubricating.

Wayne, how much for about 12 quarts of the 15-40 synthetic. If it ain't too bad on the price I'll pick it up Monday on my way out of town.
