I just installed gauges over the weekend and low and behold no fuel pressure. Checked the volume per the tsb and the lift pump failed. Took the truck to the dealer today and got a phone call that it isn't covered because of the aftermarket parts. What the gauges? Took the EZ off before going. Looks like I'm in for an argument in the morning.

He shouldn't be voiding you over the guages. They may have hooked it up to the computer and found the performance spikes? I have never heard of that but the stealers are really catching on to our mods that we have been doing. If it is over the guages then they are in the wrong, atleast if you ask me. You installed those to make sure you caught the problems before they caused any serious damage. Make sure of the reason they are denying warranty, if it is over the guages let them know what you think of them, write a letter to DC and find a better dealer

Send a cerified letter requesting an answer in writing. This way you have something besides he said she said. Gauges can't void a warranty period.

Smitty,

You have become your "own warranty. "

The known problems with the LP are part of the responsibility that you inherit. The better way to handle the LP is to replace it your self and contact DC. There is a post here that gives information on dealing with DC for your cost outlay.

Don't get me wrong, the mods you did had nothing to do with the failure, it's the mods that void DC's engine warranty. The LP is part of that warranty.

I lost mine at 82k. It has become a pet project of mine. I'm using a 24VDC permanent magnet motor to maintain pressure with variable voltage, no pressure relief. Sorry I digress, another thread... ...

I installed a set of gauges for a customer of mine and found that the fp was nearly nothing. . He took it to the dealer to have the lp replaced under warranty. The dealer gave him some static about the gauges but there was not problem getting the work done under warranty.

Now here is the kicker. . the service department offered to install a black box on his truck to up the hp. My customer ask about voiding the warranty with the black box. . and he was told that if they installed it. . it would not void the warranty. . Go figure!

I just got the truck back this afternoon. The dealer replaced the pump under warrenty. :) Needless to say that made my day. Now to just talk the wife into a new fass system, should be an easy sell. Warrenty is up in Jan. Thanks for the replies

Could you please enlighten me on this thread about DC and a cost outlay for our LPs. I did a search and could not find what you were talking about.

Thanks.

I too did a search... Now I can't find the post.

The post stated that the owner wrote to DC stating his reason for replacement and something about being "nice" and an offer to return bad unit to them.

I'll check DTR and see if I read it there.
